Wet, Wet, Wet!

Well what a change in the weather! The weather was atrocious yesterday morning and we were concerned that the senior’s Mixed Pairs Open wouldn’t be able to take place but luckily it brightened up and was able to go ahead.

Thank you to everybody who helped run the event!

Although we don’t like playing in it I think the green staff were glad to see some of the wet stuff after the dry spell we have had as of late.

Here’s a picture of Nobby one of the many helpers on the day about to take the nearest the Pin’s out.
We have a busy couple of weekends coming up with Captains Day this Saturday and Midsummer Madness the following Saturday. Midsummer Madness has filled up already with the shotgun start draw now visible online and on the noticeboards. There are still spaces available for this Saturday’s Captain’s Day, please come and play and support this year’s Captain Steve Barry, also if you are free in the evening why not come along for the Captain’s Dinner and Dance in the Marquee.

A 2 course meal followed by entertainment from the great local band Scoot and our resident DJ Scorpion Disco.

Tickets are available from the clubhouse bar and are £25pp.

Paul Johnson

Paul’s been getting stuck on his back foot, trying to hit too hard with the upper body from the top, classic fault for the amateur golfer, causing an array of bad shots.

This has all stemmed from trying to hit the ball hard with the wrong part of the body.

What I have tried to get Paul to do, is to really try hard to starting his downswing from the ground up, using the ground to create power, getting his body into a better position with more energy delivered at the desired position.
