Rotary Charity Day rearranged date
Well it was only a matter of time before the rain came to spoil things but we certainly can’t complain, we’ve had a great spell and I’m sure Dave and his team will welcome the water on to the course, they have done a great job to keep the greens watered in this dry spell and ensure a high quality putting surface for us all to enjoy.
Unfortunately because of the heavy rainfall the Rotary Charity Day had to be cancelled on Tuesday, the rearranged date is Tuesday 27th August, Tee times from 7.30am to 3pm can be booked with the Pro Shop. David Dick who is a long serving member of the club and Rotarian would really appreciate your support on the day and would like to thank everybody who did turn up on Tuesday.

News from our Club Captain Steve Barry
It was fantastic to see Bob Clampett make his 1st attempt at playing 18 holes for the best part of nearly a year on Sunday Morning.
Bob has been battling illness for quite a while but following treatment and some rest is coming out the other side of what must have been a really testing time.
I hope you would all join me in welcoming him back to the club and we all look forward to seeing a lot more him. |

I would like to say a massive thank you to those who attended the fastest round of golf on Friday evening. Your support was much appreciated.
A little over 20 people played with a support staff of family members in buggies serving drinks and re-loading balls for those teeing off. We had 3 attempts at a time, the 1st time was respectable at just under 14 minutes, the 2nd time was cocked up by yours truly! Our 3rd and final attempt was 12minutes 34 seconds which I thought was 7 seconds behind the record which is held by Steve Holt but it actually ties it so well done to all!
A buffet was put on and plenty of drinks were consumed as is the norm on our social events. Keep your eyes peeled for emails or posters advertising Golfer/Non Golfer which will hopefully be played for some time soon on a Friday evening as another social event, the more the merrier so make sure you get your names down for what should be another fantastic event.
Kind regards, Steve Barry

Roy’s Coaching Corner
Donna, our lady Captain has been working ever so hard on her game.
Massive improvement through the hitting area. Maintaining her spine angle for a longer and much better extension with her arms.
Keep up the good work.

New in store this week is the Big Max IQ360+ Trolley, the beauty of this trolley is just how small it folds up and how lightweight it is!
These trolleys are so well built and they come with a 5 year warranty which gives that peace of mind, come in store and have a look and I’ll demonstrate how easily these trollies fold up!

1 gap, 2 gap, 3 gap, FORE! |
How confident are you hitting your long irons? The lack of forgiveness can lead to inconsistent strikes and less distance. This is when filling the gaps at the top end of your bag with utility irons or hybrids could be the smartest decision you ever make – but which is right for you? |
Titleist’s brand-new utility irons and hybrids are really special, and you’ll be able to get your hands on them through us in no time at all. Why do we like them so much? Well, they are seriously easy to hit and offer unbeatable performance, but there are some things you should know… |
U-500 and U-510 utility irons Quite simply, these offer more distance than a standard iron but less spin than a hybrid. Both come loaded with tungsten for incredible forgiveness, with the U-500 offering workability and precise distances whilst the U-510 boasts a high launch and increased carry from a larger head.
|
TS2 and TS3 hybrids It's time to stop thinking of these hybrids as rescue clubs and begin referring to them as scoring clubs. Both offer plenty of distance and an easy to hit nature, with the TS2 providing a higher launch from a wider head and the TS3 giving us more adjustability in an iron-like profile. |
|
So, which route should you go down? Hybrid or utility iron? Let’s give all four a go in a custom fitting session and find the one that offers you the best performance. |
