We have a few venues on the tour calendar that brings golf closer to home, most notably The Open, but there’s something lasting and endearing about the annual BMW Championship that takes place at Wentworth Club in Surrey.

Adorned with centuries old oak trees and brilliantly crafted with beautiful water features away from the meticulously cut fairways, the venue is as much fun to talk around as it is to play golf on. That being said, playing the course proved to be less of a leisurely stroll for those players who fell short of the cut over the weekend.

Off the tee

With the Ryder Cup just a few weeks away, we saw the majority of Luke Donald's team tee it up at Wentworth ahead of the biennial showdown at Bethpage Black.

One golfer we don't see as often since his move to LIV Golf is Jon Rahm, making his appearance at Wentworth even more intriguing. Like any huge tour venue, Wentworth's West course has a demanding layout that necessitates accurate, powerful shots off the tee, with plenty of notoriously challenging holes including a pair of par-5s to finish.

Rahm puts his full trust in Callaway's Chrome Tour X golf ball, which is a real machine and has been designed to give you excellent distance off the tee. If you’re teeing up your ball on a par-5 or lengthy par 4, this is the model that’ll give you monster distances down the fairway.

From the fairways

The tournament winner was not other than Alex Noren, who's tremendous recent form saw him become a close contender for a Captain's Pick. Noren has always been a fantastic ball striker, something which is required at Wentworth thanks to the severe contours and undulating slopes on most greens that constitute Wentworth West.

This is why Noren uses the Callaway Chrome Tour golf ball. This ball features a Tour Urethane soft over that ensures an excellent sense of feel on all strikes. This is the kind of trusted feel you’ll want in a golf ball when you’re tackling a tricky par-3 like the 2nd hole at Wentworth.

Around the greens

It goes without saying that Championship-level golf courses boast very impressive, multi-tiered greens that can be as deceptive as they are stunning to look at. Top tour pros like Rahm have their own approach to putting that will include playing with a ball that looks best to them when they’re standing over the ball.

If you're on the hunt for a ball that feels great around the greens, look no further than the ERC Soft. Callaway has given this ball a very soft feel to help you perform delicate strikes around the greens. Plus, available in multiple visual tech options including TruVis and Triple Track, you'll have plenty of choice when it comes to finding which ERC Soft ball looks best to you.
